To have passion in writing fiction, one focuses on having a clear mind, being at the field documenting real stories of heritage, and ultimately bridge between the past and future.
Fiction is always based on the truth, the words that are usually left unspoken, the elephant in the room that many tend to ignore, and the confrontations that are usually avoided.
In 2017, the moment I graduated with Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Zayed University, I made it as a goal to write my contemporary fiction focusing on the United Arab Emirates Space sector while having the blueprint of the Emirati Culture.
In September 2017, I signed an employment contract to be part of an training academy. During my training, I asked specifically and persisted to intern at a Craft Council, knowing the potential it got for me to be able to conduct cultural documentation. I was placed as the first intern at that entity between October 2018 to December 2018, then I received a job offer and signed it in September 2019. Successfully, I was part of many documentation projects; from Emirati gastronomy, jewelry, crafts etc. Giving me the experience and the direct outlook onto the UAE's cultural field. As my mission was to research and document data as much as I can, in order to compile the right content for fiction writing.
In July 2022, I graduated from Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) with a distinction in Masters in Public Policy, focusing on the UAE's Space and Technology Policies. I have a published thesis research on UAE's Video Gaming Sector inspired by Fiction, exploring the gap in contemporary fiction for technology advancement.
Duo in Grey: R00Ms Trilogy is outtake on future Space Tourism, an imagined folklore to be published based on 7 years on the field cultural research. 6 years of being part of international art expositions, and a one year study under MBRSG. The tales will fuse Emirati values, latest technologies as nano-technology, real estate solutions, sports, and innovative cuisines. The genre of the trilogy will be contemporary noir fiction.
Fiction, Fairy-tales, and Folklore create traditions, as stories are the most prominent tool in a nation advancement. A creative economy with a thriving society are guided by a coherent and followed mindset. A trend is based on a tradition, as tradition is based on a habit, a habit based on a belief, a belief is based on a thought , and a thought is based on a word.
R00Ms Trilogy: Duo In Grey, the trilogy first fiction book with contemporary gastronomical recipes with a lifestyle mapping manual hardcopy will be distributed at selected venues.
